These Terms of Service describe the basic conditions for using the Smithbook public site, studio workspace, generated writing tools, and related support channels. They are written to set realistic expectations about acceptable use, user responsibility, intellectual property boundaries, and service limitations.

Use of the service

You may use Smithbook only for lawful purposes and in ways that do not abuse the service, interfere with other users, or violate applicable rights. You remain responsible for the prompts, uploads, drafts, and materials you submit to the platform, as well as for reviewing outputs before publishing, distributing, or relying on them.

Smithbook may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where there is suspected abuse, fraud, policy evasion, system interference, unsafe content generation patterns, or other conduct that creates operational, legal, or reputational risk.

Generated content and editorial responsibility

AI-assisted outputs are provided as drafting support, not as guaranteed factual, legal, medical, financial, or publishing advice. Users are responsible for reviewing generated content for accuracy, originality, rights clearance, tone fit, and audience suitability before use.

Where the platform assists with books, scripts, prompts, titles, or related creative outputs, the existence of generated text does not remove the user's responsibility to verify that the work is appropriate, non-infringing, and consistent with any publishing or professional obligations they may have.

Accounts, billing, and access

Some features may require authentication, payment, or account verification. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their login credentials and for promptly reporting unauthorized activity connected to their accounts.

Pricing, plan scope, trial access, and feature availability may change over time. If billing is offered, payment processing may be handled through third-party providers and subject to their operational terms in addition to Smithbook's platform rules.

Service availability and limitations

Smithbook works to provide a reliable service, but availability is not guaranteed in all circumstances. Features may be changed, paused, tested, or removed as the platform evolves. Maintenance, provider outages, abuse prevention, and technical dependencies can affect access and output consistency.
